All killer no filler from Limousine, CATS, Jessie Ware, Triptides, Indigo De Souza, Loma Lion, Neggy Gemmy, John Carroll Kirby, Billy Woods & Kenny Segal, Bethany Cosentino, and Jimmy Climbs!
My listening habits can be, um, incongruent. I bounce around a lot, but it's a blend that somehow makes sense in my head. I'm happy someone else sees that!
I'm always reluctant to use the word 'vibes" to describe an album, but from the Sthal House cover art to the songs, there is a very distinct vibe that runs all the way through California Nights.
Here's the thing with "vibes," and I'd imagine you deal with this as well - I try not to use it. Come up with any other description, and dammit, there's just no substitute. So if the vibes can't be denied, well then, we're saying it!
Love The Sadies and love that entire 'Northern Passages' record. Actually saw them open for Kurt Vile on that tour and he joined them for "It's Easy (Like Walking)." Great stuff! RIP Dallas Good.
I'm looking forward to Cosentino's record as well. "California Nights" still gets played here relatively often.
Currently listening to: Die Spitz and industrial amounts of Jawbreaker & The New Pornographers
Love the California Nights love! Jawbreaker and New Porns is quite the mix, and dammit, I'm in!

Oh, I definitely deal with this! Same with “awesome,” and “fantastic.”
Listening to The Sadies right now! Through Strange Eyes
Love The Sadies and love that entire 'Northern Passages' record. Actually saw them open for Kurt Vile on that tour and he joined them for "It's Easy (Like Walking)." Great stuff! RIP Dallas Good.
first time hearing Circles Around the Sun, so groovy, thanks!
Awesome, love when CATS connect with someone! Here's my review from yesterday's newsletter if you're interested in a little more background: https://kileylarsen.substack.com/p/circles-around-the-sun-return-from
