You're most welcome. Which EP have you listened to?

lots of stuff I don’t know at all to check out! But I had to play Billy Tibbals first...it’s playing as I type this. Hard to believe he’s not a lost artist from the 70s!

I'm glad Billy is connecting with you - his stuff is just too cool! if you're looking for more of that authentic retro goodness, keep your eyes and ears on Curation Records outta LA. Brent Rademaker (Further, Beachwood Sparks, GospelbeacH) and his team at the label are keeping that 70s goodness alive. Definitely check out Uni Boys, which made my Top 20 last year: https://kileylarsen.substack.com/p/sometimes-you-just-need-a-rock-n

I do love Beachwood Sparks and GospelbeacH, so I'll definitely check out Uni Boys. Surprised it missed my radar last year. I had GospelbeacH's Jam Jam EP on my best of 2021 list! Thanks for the tips!

Awesome! I had Jam Jam on my list too. Such a fun lil run of covers. Glad we're speaking the same language!

Some really unique pairings to lift it out of the typical shoe gaze formula. Inventive stuff and I want more too!

Love this. In my case, this is also why a “bigger” record might not’ve made the list. I mean, people can read about Boygenius anywhere (the record’s great, tho.).

Also: +1 for crushed. This EP made my list too.

“Big” records usually mean an auto disqualification for the newsletter, unless I really, really love it - Caroline Polechek and Janelle Monaé have been the exception this year. That crushed EP is great!
