More year-end goodness with can't-miss records from Cordovas, Bully, Sparklehorse, Steve Marino, Jenny Lewis, Narrowhead, The Chemical Brothers, Freeman DeJongh, Wilco and Tanukichan!
Some fabulous songs here, leading to another batch of albums for me to dive into. That Narrow Head song is fantastic and I look forward to checking out the album. And I’ll certainly be giving the Steve Marino album a listen - I lol’d at the review with the Everclear/Rentals/Empire Records references. I’d check the album out on the basis of that description alone, absolute gold!
I really enjoyed the latest Bully album and she made my list this year. Tanukichan and Jenny Lewis just missed out on my top 50 and it was so close for GIZMO ‘cos I really enjoyed that album
I saw this and thought “how did I miss part 1?” Damn life stuff! And then I realized there will be 3 more parts (if my math adds up) and I danced a little jig. I see we have some overlap for sure in our lists. I think I learned of Cordovas and Narrow Head from you and dug both. I have Sparklehorse as an honorable mention as although I do like it a lot, over time it is felt a bit less cohesive than his earlier albums for me. In a weaker year it would have made my top 10.

“Gizmo” is just a solid record from start to finish, and “For That Beautiful Feeling” is next-level!
