When taking the rare break from listening to the new album from The Lemon Twigs this week (occupying two songs on today’s playlist), I’ve been listening to some new singles from some of my favorites. It’s awesome to have Hotel Pools back with some reliably excellent chillwave in “Moonlight,” while Swim School and NewDad, two of my favorites from across the pond, are back with two solid singles. Here’s hoping to debut LPs from both of them soon.

It’s May 26th that I have my eye on, though, as that is the release day for Bliss Station’s self-titled debut. It’s the long-simmering collaboration between Flamingosis and Ehiorobo. Bliss Station is the first new music (not counting the consistently excellent Mood Provider series on Youtube) we’ve heard from Flamingosis since Daymaker. Longtime readers know that Daymaker was my favorite record of 2021 and a year-defining balm for the turbulence. While I’m still adjusting to Flamingosis’s typically instrumental music including vocals, Ehiorobo slides in perfectly with the reliably chilled-out beats.
